Mods 1: Bug-Fixes. If it doesn't work, just uninstall and skip. See image Note: The merged mods still need to be installed. It's just a script. When you start a new game, this mod will delay the cart from rolling for 2 minutes. That's literally all it does. The reason for this, is that starting a new game with mods installed, is extremely demanding on the game engine. This small change gives the engine a chance to catch up loading mods before starting the intro. Which means less chance of a game-engine mess-up, which can result in many types of errors.
Mods 2: Base Textures. This will replace the pot with a pettier one. If you choose version 2, you save an esp-spot in the load-order, but you get the regular pot instead. Mods 3: Environment. It contains all the options in one easy file, instead of the new separated 2. Mods 4: New Buildings, Lands and Quests. Select "Candles". No to all. Mods 5: HD Textures. New Statue of Meridia - Clean Statue. Mods 6: UI. Mods 7: Character and Race.
NOTE: You will need to run this tool after installing any mods with animations. Run after installing all character mods, then again after installing the NPC mods later. Lore-friendly in my opinion Download and install version 1. I would argue, that the complete absence of anything remotely appealing, is not entirely lore-friendly. Some of these mods change that. None of them are un-immersive or out of place. They all fit the world of Skyrim in terms of materials and presence.
The following mods are definitely not Bethesda-policy lore-friendly, and they don't bring anything significant to the story. However, the complete absence of appealing clothing is not entirely lore-friendly either, in my opinion. If the game had a category for lingerie, that's where these mods would be. They are fairly moderate in terms of materials and presence, so in that sense they are pretty lore-friendly. I highly recommend installing at least some of them, so Skyrim won't feel so "empty".
You can of course use any standalone follower mods from the Nexus. However, these mods have all been tested to work together and with the rest of the guide. I have made texture optimizations where needed, making them less demanding. In short, these mods are guaranteed to work, and they will perform well.
Neither of the mods will work without. Alternatively, keep the default folders and run Nexus Mod Manager as an Administrator. Enter your Nexus Mods username and password here. You can now head to the Fallout 4 Mods category page to browse and search the available mods. Your browser will hand off to the Nexus Mod Manager application, which will download the mod you chose.
However, some mods offer multiple versions, or additional files. You can click the red cancel button that appears in this location afterwards to disable a mod. Some mods will walk you through a setup process the first time you enable them. Go through the setup process and select your desired options to enable the mod.
Now all you need to do is launch Fallout 4. Load your existing game or create a new one—either way, the mods you installed will immediately take effect.
To disable or uninstall a mod later, close Fallout 4 and open Nexus Mod Manager. However, if you plan to install several mods, you may need to think about your mod load order. This is exactly what it sounds like. Fallout 4 will load mods one by one, in the order you specify.
Second, you may have a small mod that makes a single weapon function in a certain way. If the game loads the small mod before the larger mod, its tweaks will be overwritten by the total overhaul mod. To have the second mod function, the larger total overhaul mod needs to be loaded first. This only applies to mods that have plugins. It must appear after all these other plugins in the list. It may take some trial and error to get the load order working the way you want it.
It works by examining your mods and attempting to decide the correct order so that all dependencies are satisfied and that each mod has a maximum impact on your game. It will recommend you a load order you can configure in Nexus Mod Manager. Skyrim and Fallout 4 share the same engine, and work similarly.
