This is an automatic setting that makes uTorrent prioritize the first and last piece of a file over everything else. Keep in mind that this does not necessarily mean that the whole file will be prioritized. It is mainly there to provide users with a way to preview media files as soon as possible.
Even if some files in torrent get high priority uTorrent first goes through all files for first and last piece. This is kind of weird.. I am using uTorrent 3. Is there something I have to do to get this option?
A bit late, but: This is for prioritizing files inside each torrent, not the torrents themselves. There you right-click the files to choose priority. Hi, Is there an option in uTorrent to add torrents first in queue by default, all new torrents are added to the end of the queue. Thanks, Ron. Hi, think i have a torrent file of 20 gb which has 20 episodes in it and when i download it, the torrent will start downloading all the episodes at once, I want to set the torrent to download one episode after another, so that i can watch episode 1 while the episode 2 downloads instead of waiting for the whole 20 gb to download.
Is there an option in utorrent to set it to download 1 episode after another in a large single torrent file. Click on the torrent you want, on the lower right corner click on the 2 arrows pointing up, select files. You also can select only the first file when adding the torrent and do the right click priority step when the time comes to download the rest of the files.

Prioritizing pieces inside single torrent is not more harmful than prioritizing torrents inside a torrents list. It is only my personal view of the situation. Setting file priorities and sequential downloading are not one and the same.
In a multi-file payload the files are sorted in size order largest first , so when a torrent client user sets 'priorities' it is probably not going to start with piece 0 then piece 1 and so on, as 'sequential downloading does. I would really appreciate this feature implemented in qBittorrent. This is the only thing that stops me from switching from uTorrent to qBittorrent.
It's very useful when I want to start watching first episodes of a TV show while next episodes are being downloaded. And, by the way, it's not mandatory for this to have 15 priority levels like uTorrent does. Even libtorrent's 7 levels should be enough on a decent internet connection to be able to download whole season while watching the first 6 episodes. Also, I don't see any problems with cross-file pieces - just let it download a small piece of another file.
Please implement it, it's quite handy when you need to watch a tv series or listen to an audiobook ASAP. People, who tells "it's bad for swarm because everyone will just stop seeding after they downloaded the torrent", why do you say that? If I want to prioritize files in specific order means only that I want to start watching my show faster, and only that, it has nothing to do with how long I'll keep seeding. I think creating a macro to just click on the buttons that already exist is easier than implement this on qbit :D.

Vuze is does not use the libtorrent protocol engine uTorrent does not use the libtorrent protocol engine. BitTorrent does not use the libtorrent protocol engine. Hey great idea! Let me put it another way. I made a request.
By the way. I haven't run out of patience, nowhere even near in fact. Hi, everyone. Priority levels and prioritize by file order Star New issue. Jump to bottom. Labels BitTorrent question. Copy link. Thanks, now it's clear.
